It is still hot, but City Tavern has air again!  Mama Michelle was a finalist in FCiT and will be headlining on her birthday at The Addison Improv on Tuesday, August 17th.  We, the 5 minutes of Fame fans, thought it would be appropriate to celebrate Michelle and her accomplishments by having her back to City Tavern to headline on Sept. 2nd!  We hope you all can stop by and wish Michelle a happy belated birthday and lots of luck with her future career as a stand up comedian!

Whew it is hot but I love the summer! I hope all of you are enjoying the FCiT finals at The Addison Improv.  5 Minutes of Fame is wishing Mama Michelle lots of LUCK in the finals!  We will be back at City Tavern on Sept. 2nd and enjoying a little hiatus.  Wish me luck, I will be performing for my High School Class Reunion in August!  Go Rams.

Paul J. Williams rocked the house this month.  We had the largest crowd ever since our birth in December of 2009.  We are looking at clubs outside the downtown area to expand our horizons!  Many fans have asked us to try out the burbs for awhile, so we will attempt to do that ASAP.   Thanks to City Tavern for allowing us a place to grow.

Wow oh wow...school has kicked my butt the past few months and I am ready for the summer off!  Mimi will be at The Addison Improv on Tuesday, May 25 for the FCiT comedy contest.  On June 10th, "5 Minutes of Fame" will be back on stage at The City Tavern with Paul J. Williams headlining!  You do not want to miss Paul!  Then I am off for a little hiatus!  Beach or Vegas?  Beach or Vegas? Beach or Vegas?

Piper The Comedian, showed City Tavern what a true professional is all about!  Wow...what an inspiration.  If you missed Piper, we hope to have him back before the end of the year.  What a talent!  We also got the opportunity to pop a comedy cherry!  Marty, had her first stand up performance and she was ghetto fabulous!  I have a feeling it will not be her last!

Our February show was crazy and fun!  My Valentine theme turned into a Redneck theme.  Many of you missed James because of the weather.  Yes, Dallas shuts down when it snows!   He will be back again and I will keep you posted.  This month, the show is taking a Spring Break.  There will be many bands performing at City Tavern on their way to Austin, TX for South by Southwest.  So check it out and we will be back on Thursday, April 8 with "Piper The Comedian" headlining.  Laugh your way into Spring.  Get off your ass and do something...like open mic stand up comedy!  See ya!

It's the month for lovers and I guess that counts me out!  I'm not going to cry in my beer because James Hannah is here!  We have booked James at City Tavern on Thursday, February 11, 2010.  I must be living right.  In fact, I think all my Karmic debts are paid and it's time for success!

Good news!  The show has been a success and continues to grow.  We have been booked at City Tavern for February & April.  We will take a Spring Break in March.  Our open mic performers have been awesome and our headliners have succeeded our expectations.  I am so humbled by the performers on a monthly basis and have to keep wondering how did all of this happen?  It certainly is challenging me to write more and as a host, you have to come up with new things each month.  We had a large crowd this month but don't let that fool you!  They were tough! Looking forward to the months ahead!  Learning as I go!

Thanks so much to Josh & City Tavern for booking "5 Minutes of Fame" for two months!  I'm so excited about our headliners and the opportunity to bring some COMEDY to Downtown Dallas!  Find your voice and sign up for open mic!  Mama Michelle will perform on December 9th and Christina Lopez will perform on January 13th!  This is a dream come true for me!  Come Celebrate!
